2016/01/14 - Dan Warren (@WarrendeeDan) used emulator, too, and not only slew Shamrock, but also posted longplay video of the game to Youtube. For this, Dan was knighted Sir Dan 'DragonSlayer' Warren, The Herald Of Arthur's Adventures.
The Challenges and The Knights
This page is for those brave and persistent souls who have managed to play through all levels of Little Knight Arthur. Since getting even past the first spider is tricky for a newcomer, and it seldom gets any easier after that, I can be sure that those who manage to kill the dragon have had to spend hours and hours of playtime. Even if they use trainer cheats or emulator save states, it takes time and effort to drop that pile of stones on Shamrock. So I decided to honor their feats on this page.
If you chose to take up these challenges, you have been warned. Path to glory in Little Knight Arthur can feel nightmarish. It certainly requires persistence and certain kind of stubbornness -- keeping playing when the game and playing it feels no longer fun at all, only very stupid. Quitting is a better option than losing one's sanity out of frustration.
That said, I know there are people who enjoy hard, even impossible challenges. If you are one of those people on Twitter, please keep me updated on your progress by using hashtags #arthurC64 and one of the challenge hashtags below!
Basic and simple: get to the last level in a single game using any means you can. Unlimited cheats are OK, but invincibility, levelskip and similar cheats that completely remove challenges are not. In other words, levels should work as they do without the cheats. Emulator state save/restore are OK, but not slowing down the game.
Get through all levels, kill the dragon, no cheats, no excuses. This is hard and requires a lot of luck as well.
